A Day's Heartbeat

Written by: Anna Bryant

Pulsing beats course through my body.
My mind still quiet as midnight.
The world unconscious to these brave few who face the day before the waking of dawn.
Preparing themselves to slay the dragons of the day.
Sleep is left like a ghost in the bed which they left only with the body heat of what had been.
Music assisting with the morning drive to push forward.

To focus.

My heart begins to race along with the speed of your feet drumming the ground.
The first mountain of the day, complaining muscles just encourage us to continue on.
The adventure of the day has started...
